TIMELINE:

24 MARCH 2025 – 18 APRIL 2025

KEY QUOTE:

“Your choke point will limit how far you can go with God because something is too valuable for you to give up. It is the threshold of your trust in God.”

LABAN SYNDROME

BY JOHN BENDIXEN

Wow! What a book, liberating each believer from the claws of the enemy if we choose to live by the Word. This book clearly teaches us the principles of the world versus God’s way. For me, it basically explains the life and death set before us. There are only two wills in this world and in life: the will of God and the will of the devil. It is important to stay fully committed to God and not become neutral, for no one can serve two masters. We are constantly taught by the world to do things a certain way—to seek achievements, stay neutral until all facts are clear, strategize, and pursue status and honor. All those things are the world’s way of doing things. God’s way is through trusting Him and putting Him first in your life. When doing that, you will need to grow in God, which is why we have the local church and why we are to be planted in the local church so that we can grow and God can bring about His constellation.

God wants to bless us, but He can only do so if we walk in His ways. Constellation is the alignment of God’s blessings in your life as you do His will, with key events happening in your life—big rock moments that change your life forever because you are obedient to God.

God does not want us to walk in the ways of Laban or to be held in the grip of the Laban syndrome, but that means we need to give up all the ungodly ways in our lives and our mistaken tone of distrust in our Heavenly Father. Only then can we be set free and fully receive the blessings He has for us and walk in God’s constellation for our lives.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q1: Where have I spotted Laban Syndrome in my own life?
A1: Before I joined iXchange, I noticed how schools really focus on teaching students all the parts of what’s called the Laban Syndrome. Society often says that if you can master these eleven traits, you’re set for success in life—at least that’s what the world thinks. But true freedom comes from breaking away from those old patterns and moving beyond the Laban Syndrome.
Q2: What key events in my life have I recognized as part of God’s constellation for me?
A2: Key events that I recognize as part of God’s constellation in my life occurred around the age of 12 or 13 when I asked my spiritual father to speak into my life and bless me. This created the space and place for my spiritual father to guide me in later years when the enemy deceived me, and I started making my own plans for my life.
In 2021, I chose to follow only God’s plan for my life and joined iXchange. Since then, many more important moments have taken place in my life that are part of God’s constellation for me.
